Lotto Win Happiness for Pembroke Mum
Issued on behalf of The National Lottery
A mum-of-three from Pembroke Dock is celebrating the news that she and her husband will have their first holiday abroad after matching five numbers plus the bonus ball to win £95,476 in the Lotto draw on Saturday 21 April.
Susan Davies (47), who has three children, Emma (25) Sarah (21) and Jonathon (16) and works as a care assistant in Pembroke Haven Residential Home, realised she had won the money when she checked the numbers on Teletext on Sunday morning.
Her daughter, Sarah, was with her and had to double check the numbers for her mum.
“I was in total shock and disbelief, said Susan, whose husband, Paul, is 49 and works in the local Asda store. “I’ve never been a lucky person or won a prize before in my whole life.
“This money will make a huge difference to our lives. The first thing I’m going to do is get passports for us both, as Paul has never been abroad and I haven’t for many years. We are going to treat ourselves to a week in the sun, I think. After that, we will give some to the kids, and buy a new fridge!
“The rest of the money will go towards a nice retirement fund for us, as we have no life savings at all. This money will give us a fantastic feeling of security for the first time in our lives.
“The first thing I want to do is celebrate as a family by going out for a big Sunday lunch – I’ve never done that before and it will be great not to do all the washing-up afterwards! It will be such a treat”
Susan bought her ticket at the Asda where Paul works, in Gordon Street, Pembroke Dock. The winning numbers on Saturday April 21 were 14, 20, 21, 30, 41, 46 and the bonus ball 6.
Tonight (Wednesday’s) jackpot is an estimated £2.5 million, while this Friday’s (4 May) estimated EuroMillions rollover jackpot is £26million. Every Lotto play slip now comes with its own Dream Number – it is up to players to mark ‘yes’ to give their Dream Number its chance of winning up to £500,000, or choose a Lucky Dip®.
