Thousands of decision-makers from the full spectrum of Welsh business will flock to the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff on June 13th and 14th for the Ideal Business Show Wales and the chance to learn, network and expand their business’s potential.
The final touches are currently being put to the event billed as “the most important two days in the business diaries of every small and medium-sized company in Wales”.
Ideal Business Show Wales will bring owners, directors, entrepreneurs and a clutch of inspirational speakers to the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff on Wednesday June 13th and Thursday June 14th.
The show will provide them with the chance to take away a fund of ideas, advice and inspiration to help build their businesses, and a great opportunity to meet potential new customers – all under one roof.
More than 3,000 visitors are expected to attend the show where more than 100 exhibitors from the public and private sectors await them. There will also be seminars, business breakfasts and lunches each day with some of the biggest names in the business world appearing as motivational speakers throughout the two-day event.
Registration for visitors to the event has already begun online. Simply visit the website www.idealbusinessshow.co.uk and fill in the details in the registration form.
Top of the bill for many will be no-nonsense broadcaster John Humphrys, doing what comes naturally. The legendary hard-man of Radio 4’s Today programme and presenter of BBC TV’s Mastermind quiz will be putting some of Britain’s coolest business operators in the hot seat to reveal the real people behind the myths.
Among those lined up to be interviewed are Jacqueline Gold – the Ann Summers’ and Knickerbox chief executive, Chris Moss – chairman of the Number (118118) and creator of the Orange brand and Mike Southon – the best-selling author and brains behind 17 start-up businesses.
“It’s really very brave of these hugely successful people to put themselves under a glaring spotlight like this,” said event director Will Allen.
“They’ve signed up as guest speakers and agreed to let John Humphrys interview them in the way that only John Humphrys can. He’ll be getting under their protective shells to reveal the strengths and weaknesses that have made them some of the key figures in Britain’s business landscape.”
Another speaker sure to draw a crowd is Gerald Ratner – former chief executive of the jewellery chain Ratners – who achieved notoriety after making a speech in which he described some of his stock as “total crap”.
And one of the best-known figures in the Welsh business scene will also be sure of a big audience. He is Henry Engelhardt – former hamburger salesman, journalist, film-maker, Stock Exchange runner, marketing manager, managing director and creator and chief executive of Admiral.
For exhibitors the opportunities are enormous. They will get the opportunity to make face-to-face contact with decision makers; launch, promote and sell new products; expand their prospect databases; raise brand awareness and extend business relationships.
Last year Cardiff-based internet specialists IT3.com attended the show for the first time.
“Over the two days we received more than 130 qualified business leads,” said marketing director Rachel Weybourne.
“The event also gave us the opportunity to build brand awareness throughout the local business community.”
The event is being sponsored by the Welsh Assembly Government, with Newport & Gwent Chamber of Commerce as partners, support from the Institute of Directors, the Federation of Small Businesses, Cardiff County Council and Cardiff Chamber of Commerce and the Western Mail is the official media partner.
