It really is a case of keeping it in the family at Parc-y-Berllan, as brother and sister, David and Rebecca Barnes, take the keys to their new properties.
Twenty-three year-old Rebecca and David, 27, have both purchased at the popular Llanmoor Homes development in Caerphilly and moved into their new homes within a week of one another.
It was gas fitter David, who first decided to make the move when, while visiting friends at Parc-y-Berllan, he took a look inside the 3-bedroom Finchley showhome and, impressed by its size and layout, decided to buy for himself.
For Rebecca, a trainee quantity surveyor and partner, Gareth Rowlands, it is the first step on the property ladder and one they weren’t sure they’d be able to make.
“After four years together, we knew we wanted our own space but, like so many others, weren’t sure what we’d be able to afford,” says Rebecca.
“We first looked at some apartments in Caerphilly but then, after speaking to David, realised how much more we could get for our money at Parc-y-Berllan.
“We’ve gone for the 3-bed Bayswater property and Llanmoor have been really supportive throughout, making our first step as easy as possible – even throwing in free carpets – so we’re really looking forward to settling into our first home together.”
For David, the garden of his new home, as well as large garage added to the appeal.
He says: “I had no idea I’d end up with my sister as my neighbour when I first put an offer in – but luckily we get on very well!
“Parc-y-Berllan is in a great location and very easy for me in terms of travel to work etc – having friends, and of course family, already here is a bonus.”
