T-Boards Offer New Opportunity in Advertising

By admin

Issued on behalf of TiSPLAY

A new opportunity in outdoor advertising – “the T-Board” – has been launched and is being rolled out across the UK.

The innovative boards, produced by South Wales-based TiSPLAY, are designed for installation in the bays of managed car parks to offer owners and managers a valuable new revenue stream and advertisers an untapped audience.

Named because of their shape, the robust T-Boards display advertisements in the line of vision to the occupants of cars. The advertisements are illuminated, the boards lighting up whenever sensors detect movement in front of them, such as a car parking or a person walking past.

They are A3-sized but can host different sizes and shapes to suit the advertiser’s requirements, making them ideal for branding, promotions and information campaigns.

The T-Boards are already in place in At-Bristol’s 500-bay Millennium Square car park and in the 400-bay Beachwood Shopping Centre car park in Cheltenham.

A contract has also been signed with North Wilts District Council to install them in the car park at Emery Gate Shopping Centre in Chippenham and further agreements have been reached to roll-out T-Boards in Birmingham, Northampton, Nottingham, Leeds, Manchester and Glasgow in the next few months.

TiSLPAY’s managing director Douglas Catt said: “We’ve carried out extensive research and come up with a simple, flexible and effective product that ticks all the boxes.

“Most drivers and passengers spend 30 seconds or more in the vehicle after parking and there, right in front of them at the nose of each individual parking bay stands the T-Board with an advertisement aimed squarely at the occupants of the car.

“On leaving the car, the occupants will again see the advertisements in a totally uncluttered environment. It can be repeated again and again as they walk to buy tickets, leave their vehicles and return to them. And as 80% of car park users visit car parks between one and four times a week, the message is reinforced.

“We provide clients with a proper activity report, including the number of times the T-Boards have been illuminated and the numbers of cars using the car park. It all helps to show what a positive impact they have. Currently, a massive 95% of car park users are dissatisfied with their experience, but we believe T-Boards will help make the car parks where they are in place more attractive to drivers and passengers.”

Revenue apart, T-Boards have numerous other benefits. They make parking easier by being centrally positioned in each bay so drivers can align their cars. They also carry parking bay numbers making it easier to find cars again and in doing so they help prevent over-parking and reduce the risks of joy-riding and damage while parking.

Although designed and built to withstand parking bumps, TiSPLAY makes site maintenance a high-priority with a management programme that ensures T-Boards are always clean, safe and secure and that damaged or vandalised T-Boards are replaced within 48hours of being reported.

And TiSPLAY is already working on the evolution of the T-Board: “We’re looking at more advanced versions incorporating such technologies as LCD screens, touch-screens, audio-visual and Bluetooth,” said Douglas Catt.

“They already provide a great opportunity for advertisers to engage with consumers but in time they will use more entertaining and contemporary ways of doing this.”
