Turn the Air Pink & Blue for Cancer Research Wales

By admin

Issued on behalf of Cancer Research Wales

MERMAID QUAY will be holding its second pink and blue themed walk this September as part of an appeal to fight breast and prostate cancer.

Everyone who signs up for this year’s Cancer Research Wales walk will be asked to wear either pink, to show support for breast cancer, or blue for prostate cancer. The charity is currently funding a £1million research project in Wales looking at how to stop breast and prostate tumours spreading to other parts of the body.

Both breast and prostate cancer are two of the most common cancers affecting people in Wales, with 20,000 men and women diagnosed with prostate or breast cancer here every year.

The four mile Pink-a-Blue Walk will take place on Sunday September 9, starting outside the Norwegian Church

and this is the reason behind the walk as it will help fund Welsh based research projects, finding new anti-cancer drugs to fight both life-threatening illnesses.

This year’s event is to be held on Sunday 9th September and starts outside the Norwegian church at 11am and will continue (include route and sights) for four miles.
