Welsh Design Agency Stills Expanding

Issued on behalf of Stills
The brand communications agency Stills has expanded, recruiting four new employees to cope with a boom in design contracts they’ve won.
Graphic designer Vicki Ashurst, production assistant Ceri Mears, production manager Kat Marsh and interactive designer Laura Sorvala have just started with the Cardiff-based agency. There is also another new vacancy for a new business manager.
The company is based in a converted chapel a few minutes walk from Cardiff city centre. “It’s a stimulating and creative environment and the nature of the work we do is very diverse – from brand development to websites and films,” said marketing director James Horsham.
The agency has recently won contracts all over the UK, including in the West Country with energy efficiency consultants Enact, in London for oil and gas consultants Energy and Power and oil exploration company Fox Oil, in Cheltenham with Lyndon Design and Liverpool law firm Silverbeck Ryner.
Nearer to home in Wales, they’ve also started contracts with Cambrian Organics, Confused.com – a branch of Admiral Insurance, Cardiff Council and bedroom and kitchen manufacturer Sigma 3 of Llantrisant.
“There has been a boom in design work in Wales over the last five years or so and as one of the longest established agencies we’ve been well placed to benefit from it,” said James Horsham.
“But a lot of our work comes through word of mouth. Many of the companies we deal with have national profiles and when they recommend us to other companies it takes us all over the country. Geography doesn’t seem to be such a factor in the design business any more.”
