Entrepreneur Aims To Clean Up with Jamie Baulch

YOUNG Welsh entrepreneur Emyr Hughes has joined forces with Welsh sports star Jamie Baulch to launch a new product through his company Live Enterprise (UK) Ltd.
Sports Solution cleans and sanitises sports equipment from training shoes to racquet grips and the first consignments are being distributed to retail outlets this week.
“It can be used to tackle all sorts of stains, from grass to blood, and it kills off bacteria to leave equipment and clothing clean, odour-free and sanitised,” said Emyr.
“It can be used in so many sports, from football to bowls, it is non-abrasive and comes in a pump-action bottle so produces no fumes or CFCs – yet there’s nothing like it on the market.
“We got Jamie on board because he’s got such fantastic connections in the sports scene. We’ve tried Sports Solution out with professional and semi-professional sports people and it’s gone down really well so we’ve taken it to retailers and their response has been amazing.
“It’s being produced at a factory in Ebbw Vale which will be turn out a million bottles a month to meet the demand. And we’ve had to take on two new staff to help with the sales and distribution to sports shops.”
Jamie Baulch said, “I joined Emyr on this project because it was such a great business opportunity. The Sports Solution does everything it says on the tin which makes it very useful to a lot of people. It’s been very well received by the sales outlets – the biggest challenge we’ve had so far has been meeting the demand for it.”
Sport Solution follows hot on the heels of the 50,000 infrared Sahara patio heaters Emyr bought direct from the Chinese manufacturer to sell to businesses wanting keep their staff and customers warm as the cold weather looms and the real impact of the smoking ban is felt.
The heaters are being sold to businesses and consumers across the UK but Emyr believes his latest venture could even eclipse them in terms of turnover.
“Both the Sahara heaters and Sports Solution follow the same principle – they’re must-have products, though for very different reasons. They’re both filling gaps in the market and will sell very quickly in large volumes so we can buy in bulk to reduce the unit cost. It’s simple really, but simple things work, he said.”
