Castle Court Financial Planner Wins Double Award

Cardiff-based financial planner Richard Gough of Castle Court Consulting has won two top accolades at a prestigious UK award ceremony.
Richard was named runner-up in both Inheritance Tax Planner and Protection Planner categories at the Money Management Financial Planner of the Year Awards – described as “the Oscars of the financial services industry” – in The Dorchester Hotel, London on Thursday night (October 4th).
The qualified investment manager with the Cardiff-based financial planning specialists won the Protection Planner of the Year award in 2006. Once again, candidates for the awards were put through a rigorous selection procedure.
They first had to submit detailed 2,500 word responses to complex case studies which were judged on their technical expertise and understanding of the client’s position. The top two in each of 11 categories were then interviewed by the selection panel before the final decision was made.
Richard, who has spent 17 years in financial services and has been with Castle Court Consulting since 2004, said: “My clients and their financial welfare are the most important part of my business.
“These awards were described by the BBC TV programme Panorama a couple of years ago as ‘the Oscar’s of the UK financial services industry’ and are an excellent way of ensuring I am continuing to provide the most creative, technically proficient solutions for clients.”
Richard is one of just 360 Fellows of the Personal Finance Society and one of 600 UK-based holders of the Certified Financial Planning Certificate – the only internationally-recognised financial planning qualification.
A holder of the UK Society of Investment Professionals Investment Management Certificate, he became one of the UK’s first Chartered Financial Planners last year.
