National Lottery Fever Hits Cardiff

By admin

Issued on behalf of Camelot

The lucky National Lottery terminal at Paul Brothers in Habershon Street in Splott, has become a magnet for players looking to become the next big jackpot winner.

The rush follows the Prance family’s £6,989,367.40 EuroMillions win at the end of September after syndicate member Carl Prance bought the family’s ticket at this very store. Business has been booming over the last fortnight as other lottery hopefuls have flocked to the lucky shop, hoping that some of this good fortune will rub off on them.

Mahesh Maroo from Paul Brothers said: “The Prance family’s big win is the definitely on the minds of lots of people when they come in to buy their lottery tickets. Many of our customers now make a point of standing in the very same spot by the lottery terminal in hope that the good luck will rub off on them.

“I’ve noticed an increase in tickets sales since the Prance’s won and hopefully another big local win is on the cards soon. Local people work very hard for a living so that they can provide for their families, so I hope that the Prance family will be the good luck charm for the shop and we will see more winners from Splott in the future.”

Carl Prance and his family have each taken home a £1,164,894 share of the EuroMillions win and plan to splash out and each buy a top-of-the-range caravan at the family’s favourite site, Trecco Bay in Porthcawl.

This Wednesday / Saturday’s (date) Lotto jackpot is an estimated £x.x million, while Friday’s (19 October 2007) EuroMillions jackpot is an estimated £x.x million. Every Lotto play slip now comes with its own Dream Number – it is up to players to mark ‘yes’ to give their Dream Number its chance of winning up to £500,000, or choose a Lucky Dip®.
