Stills Turns XFM South Wales DJs into Superheroes

Presenters from Xfm South Wales have been turned into comic-book superheroes by top Welsh design agency Stills to promote the impending launch of their new radio station on November 29th.
Pritchard and Dainton from Dirty Sanchez, Goldie Lookin Chain’s Rhys and Eggsy, ITV1 Wales presenter Colin Francies and ex-Stereophonics drummer Stuart Cable are among the high-profile DJs who will be presenting shows when the station goes live.
But before the launch each has been given their own cartoon superhero persona and together these make up a super-group that will help promote the new station using bus backs, billboards and with such events as a “superhero tour” around their South Wales transmission area.
Stills’ creative director David Lea said, “The ‘superhero’ concept fits well with the high profile of the DJs on Xfm South Wales and the station’s irreverent and tongue-in-cheek tone.
“It’s been a very exciting project. Xfm is a dynamic product, a cutting-edge radio station, passionate about new and emerging music. It’s always exhilarating being involved in the launch of such a high-energy product.”
Xfm South Wales’ marketing manager Lisa Fairclough said, ‘”We are thrilled with the superhero concept; it promotes the idea that Xfm is no ordinary radio station. The strong visuals reflect the big personalities that we will have on-air and demonstrate the impact that Xfm South Wales will have in the local marketplace.”
Xfm South Wales will be focusing on bringing the best of new music and local talent to South Wales’ radio listeners and providing the area with a radio station that enables local musicians and artistic talent to be heard across the country. Xfm South Wales will be transmitted across Cardiff, Newport, Swansea and the Valleys on 106.8 – 107.3 from the 29th November.
