Cardiff Agency Helps Crimestoppers Fight
Issued on behalf of Precedent Communications
A groundbreaking new website launched by Crimestoppers has been built in Cardiff by one of the UK’s top digital marketing agencies Precedent Communications.
The website has several key roles to play, including appealing for and managing information provided by the public. This is the first time a system has been built specifically for use by Police forces across the company to enter appeals into a central database.
It also means users of the website will be able to monitor appeals and send valuable and potentially life-saving information to Crimestoppers quickly and anonymously.
As well as developing such pioneering technology, Precedent and Crimestoppers asked the online audience what they wanted and the answer they got was local news and local information. As a result, Precedent developed the “In Your Area” features which appear throughout the site, providing such details as the most wanted criminals in different parts of the country.
And Crimestoppers’ users can also subscribe to RSS feeds to important content through which they can specify exactly what they are interested in.
As well as the website’s core purposes of crime prevention and crime detection, it will also provide a valuable role in garnering financial support for the Crimestoppers charity.
“The next stage in the ongoing success of the Crimestoppers ‘Most Wanted’ website is a truly exciting one,” said Neil Davis, Precedent’s director of strategy.
“For the first time, people across the UK can access truly local and national information about crime from both Crimestoppers and the police on one site.
“It is also a massive step forward for promoting Crimestoppers as a charity in need of financial support. We are immensely proud to be associated with such an important tool in the ongoing fight against crime in the UK.”
The website www.crimestoppers-uk.org was launched to the public on Wednesday January 23.
