Stills designs health supplements comparison website

By admin

The first independent health supplements comparison website has been designed and built by top Welsh design agency Stills.

supplementscompared.com focuses on the health supplements market where an estimated 20,000 products are available and aims to provide consumers with all the relevant information they need to make an informed choice.

Stills first created the supplementscompared.com brand and designed the database website and its functionality with user experience in mind.

“The process was an organic one,” explained Stills managing director Chris Carpenter.

“As we worked through the requirements with the client we realised the full potential of the site.

“It is consumer-facing and is designed accordingly, so that users can choose from a huge number of different health supplements and get whatever level of information they want. Consequently, there is a vast amount on information on the website so the navigation system plays a crucial role in making it usable and easily understood.”

Products are reviewed by an independent panel of experts made up of medical doctors and leading nutritionists and chaired by Janey Lee Grace, bestselling author of the “Imperfectly Natural” series and a BBC broadcaster.

They have already produced individual reviews and ratings of hundreds of the most popular supplements and plan to assess every health supplement available to consumers. However, manufacturers can have products “fast tracked” for a one off fee. Similarly, those who are awarded “best product” and “worth a look” can promote this on the site for an additional fee. And further revenue is generated when consumers click through to manufacturers’ websites.

Independent health food stores are also listed on the site and, for a small fee they can add a description and web link.

supplementscompared.com was devised and established by Dr Nigel Plummer who has worked in the research, development and manufacture of nutritional supplements for more than 20 years. Profits generated by supplementscompared.com will be donated to charitable causes.

The site launched on April 2, 2008 and will be backed by a TV advertising campaign in May plus a full array of online advertising and national PR led by integrated marketing agency, CHA.
