Kempton Rees has been appointed as a partner at Cardiff-based solicitors Darwin Gray LLP.
Mr Rees was previously a partner with Geldards where he specialised in general commercial litigation and headed up its insolvency courtwork team.
He also led Geldards’ corporate crime and regulation practice, advising clients in connection with investigations by regulatory authorities such as Trading Standards, the Environment Agency and the Health & Safety Executive. As part of this, he devised and implemented a protocol for advising clients who find themselves subject to dawn raids by the Competition Commission.
Bethan Darwin, a partner at Darwin Gray, said: “We are delighted that Kempton has joined us.
“His appointment brings yet another dimension to the Litigation team which is now one of the most experienced in South Wales, and it further strengthens our existing insolvency practice.“
Mr Rees is married with one son. He also holds a private pilot’s licence and is a keen singer, golfer and rugby fan.
The Darwin Gray team has now grown to seven partners and 16 lawyers since it was founded by Bethan Darwin and Donald Gray in 2002.
