Douglas Willis makes two key appointments

By admin

Two new key appointments have been made to boost business at Welsh meat supplies specialists Douglas Willis.

Former British Alcan executive Bernard Williams, 50, becomes sales manager, while Brennan Hall, 33, has been made production manager. Both will be based at the Douglas Willis headquarters in Cwmbran, which supplies meat to restaurants, hotels, pubs, cafes and schools across South East Wales.

Mr Williams, who lives in Shirenewton, near Chepstow, has also run a bed-and-breakfast business and an award-winning tearoom in Dorset. He will be responsible for maintaining relationships with the company’s existing 400 customers as well as seeking to win new business.

Mr Hall, from Raglan, who was previously a chef at the Celtic Manor Hotel, near Newport, and the Beaufort Arms in Raglan, will be in charge of production at the Douglas Willis factory in Cwmbran.

Managing director Sean Willis – grandson of company founder Douglas Willis, who continues to play an active part in the company with a turnover of more than £6m a year – said: “We are delighted to have two new highly experienced people to join our expanding team to help us become more efficient and grow the business.”

The Douglas Willis family business also has two butchers shops in Cwmbran with the family farms in the Usk Valley continuing to provide meat for both businesses.
