Forum plans women’s insight into marketing and branding

By admin

Hot on the heels of the success of its first Working Women networking event, Caerphilly Business Forum is planning its next advice night for business women in the area – an insider’s view into the world of marketing and branding.

Local businesswoman – and Caerphilly Business Forum award winner – Michelle Rose-Innes will use her 15 years of experience in the design industry to offer up some sound advice on the need for business to re-brand.

Michelle, whose Blackwood-based company has worked for big name clients like Tesco and Sainsbury’s, will be guest speaker at the next Working Women Network event being held at Pamper Haven in Machen on Wednesday, September 3.

Michelle, who won the New Lifestyle Business Award at last year’s Caerphilly Business Forum Awards, said: “Networking is all about building relationships and maintaining them over time.

“Working with the Forum has definitely helped me to build my client portfolio. Some women may feel nervous about networking, but our women-only events are intimate and there is no pressure on anyone attending.”

She added: “This event is possibly one of the greatest opportunities a company will have to establish connections, create relationships and help their business to succeed.”

One local businesswoman who has already benefitted from the exposure that can be gained from attending events like Working Women is Melanie Sweeney, editor of the Caerphilly Mums In Control magazine – a publication that focuses on mothers who want to get back to work.

With a 10-month-old son herself, Melanie certainly knows what her readers are after. She is currently on maternity leave from her position as a financial advisor, and bought the magazine franchise to provide her with more flexibility and a better work-life balance.

To maximize the success of her new venture, Melanie regularly attends the Caerphilly Business Forum events, and is a member of the Working Women Network.

She said: “I have been to several of the Caerphilly Business Forum events which have been great for getting the magazine up and running. The Working Women Network is especially good for talking to like-minded business women, and is also a feeding ground to find inspirational women to do articles on.”

Women from all business backgrounds are invited to attend the event. For more information, contact Jo Braham on 01443 866215 or visit www.cbforum.co.uk
