Two appointments add to Fusion Workshop’s expanding mix

By Effective Communication

Specialist in business-critical web development Fusion Workshop, has appointed two new members of staff to its expanding team.

Gavin Harris starts in the new role of usability and project support consultant, while Catrin Parry-Jones returns to the more senior position of office manager after a year working in Washington DC.

Gavin completed his BSc degree in Computing and Information Systems from University of West of England in Bristol before working as a systems specialist for Nationwide Building Society in Swindon and as a usability analyst for digital agency Nomensa Ltd. Gavin’s new role will see him working with Fusion Workshop’s customers to improve their website and intranet user experience.

Gavin said: “People are becoming more confident about using websites and as a result are demanding effective, efficient and satisfying user experiences. Improving usability can fundamentally increase return on investment through better conversion rates, increased brand perception and better support.”

Catrin, 24, from Penarth, returns to the company after working in the United States where she liaised with such companies as the US Mint, Google-California and Hewlett Packard. Catrin previously worked as Fusion Workshop’s office administrator. Her new crucial role at Fusion Workshop sees her supporting the day to day running of the business.

Managing Director, Chris Short said: “Our customers are increasingly looking to improve the user experience on their websites – and get greater results. We have recruited a specialist in usability to meet the increasing demand for these services, right across the UK. Accessibility is also a key concern for our customers, with a legal obligation to make public-facing websites accessible to all. Gavin is an important addition to our team and will provide a valuable service in their areas.

“We are also delighted to welcome Catrin back to Fusion Workshop. She will be an important member of the team as more organisations seek us out for business-critical web services.”
