ASDA get a Taste of Douglas Willis

Welsh family butcher, Douglas Willis, has won a contract with Taylors Regional Foods to supply a range of its popular products to supermarket giant, ASDA.
Through Taylors, the Cwmbran-based butcher – which has two retail shops of its own at the Parade Shopping Centre and Llanyravon Square, Cwmbran – is now supplying twelve stores across South East Wales, West Wales and the South Wales Valleys region.
This new contract will allow ASDA customers to sample a selection of the Douglas Willis range of sausages – including the popular ‘perfect pork’, pork and leek and pork and herb, as well as the company’s prime beefburgers.
Established over 60 years ago by Douglas Willis, who still plays an active role in the business, along with son, David and grandsons, Sean and Peter, the company is proud of its distinct identity and strong family heritage and sources some of the meat for its products directly from the family farms in the Usk Valley.
Speaking about this latest venture, managing director, Sean Willis said the contract with ASDA is an exciting new development for the business.
“Obviously we were delighted when Taylors Regional Foods approached us to become part of their portfolio of suppliers as we know they only procure the very best”, said Sean.
“The ASDA arrangement is great news for us and allows us to introduce our products to a much a wider audience, which is excellent for the business as a whole.
“We’re already getting some fantastic feedback and sales at this very early stage are extremely encouraging. We’re confident that this will be the start of a long and successful relationship.”
