But it’s proved just the right move for Colin and Deborah Blake who recently sold their period home in North Wales to move into a brand new Llanmoor property at the popular Cefn Cadno development in Llanharan.
Having lived in North Wales for the past seven years, Colin, 45, and Deborah, 40, have relocated closer to Deborah’s home city of Cardiff, in order to make the most of suitable career opportunities.
Colin, a web designer and Deborah, a writer specialising in Russian history, have purchased a four-bedroom detached home, with plenty of space to accommodate their two young children, Catherine, 5, and 4 year-old William and close to local parks and schools.
Deborah cites the location of the development as one the major factors in the couple’s decision to purchase.
“Cefn Cadno is a family-friendly development, close to Pontyclun and lots of local amenities. It really is in an ideal location, near to the train station for the commute to see my family – which includes my three older children – in Cardiff, and also near to the M4 allowing Colin to travel to visit his family in London easily.
“We knew we wanted a new build, as the house we used to live in was so old and after only 6 weeks we found our dream property.
“We were able to choose a lot of the internal fittings such as the kitchen tiles which has made it feel more like our home and the garden is great for the children.
“When we saw this house, we instantly fell in love. The layout and size of the bedrooms are superb and we’re close to the city but far enough outside to enjoy the countryside so we get the best of worlds!
