By Effective Communication
The Carmarthenshire-based Penny Farthing Appeal is marking 10 years of fundraising with a momentous event this Saturday (5th Dec) in Ceredigion.
Founders of the fundraising committee Derrick and Carole Davies, from Saron in Llandysul, are holding a dinner and auction and will present Cancer Research Wales with a cheque for the amount raised over the past 12 months.
The event is being held at the Ffrostrassol Arms in Ceredigion, where guests will enjoy a two course meal, a charity auction and raffle with prizes including bottles of spirits and hampers and entertainment will be provided by comedian Robbie Lee.
The Penny Farthing Appeal was started by the Derrick and Carole in memory of their son, Richard, who died from a rare form of cancer in June 1999.
All the money they raise goes to Cancer Research Wales where it is spent in Wales, and funds pioneering research carried out by scientists in Welsh hospitals.
Maggie Hughes Cancer Research Wales fundraising director said: “The Penny Farthing appeal has raised a fantastic amount of money for Cancer Research Wales.
“The support of people like Derrick and Carole means that we can continue to fund vital research in Wales.”
If you would like to book for the dinner please call Derrick on 01559 370885.
