Welsh National Development Squad Training Camp 2010
Budding young soccer stars from across Wales are preparing to take part in a national youth development training camp run by the Welsh Football Trust.
The three day event (2-5 March), based at the Welsh Institute of Sport in Cardiff, will see 14 and 15-year-olds boys training to raise their standard of play in a bid to build a new national squad for the future.
A total of 33 boys from all over Wales were selected for the training camps, illustrating the depth of quality currently in the youth game in Wales. Welsh Football Trust Technical Director Osian Roberts is in charge of coaching the young players.
Osian said: “I have been impressed with the standards so far and will be looking for the players to develop further during this camp. We are working hard to create a family atmosphere in which all the players are comfortable with, and supportive of each other.
“It will be a very challenging and important time for the youngsters involved which offers them a great chance to put into practice all that they have learnt in 2009, and hopefully prepare them for the year ahead.”
