Businesses fly the flag for triumphant Team Wales in Delhi
By Effective Communication
With Team Wales continuing to bring in the medals, businesses back home in Wales are literally flying the flag – with the largest Welsh flag ever made.

The giant flag was created and donated to the Welsh Games squad by businessman Charles Ashburner and now hangs down the front of the five-storeys high Team Wales HQ in the Indian capital.
Mr Ashburner, of the Flag Institute and the Swansea-based MrFlag.com company, has also given every one of the 175 athletes representing Wales at the Games a Welsh flag to help ensure the dragon of Wales is on show all over Delhi until the closing ceremony on Thursday.
The Welsh dragon will also feature heavily on a special commemorative medal being produced by the Royal Mint at Llantrisant and presented to every member of Team Wales as a memento of the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
The same Delhi 2010 Dragon can be seen on the streets of Wales – courtesy of two special-liveried Veolia coaches which will also be used to transport many of the athletes from Heathrow Airport when they return from India.
Mr Flag, the Royal Mint and Veolia are just three of almost 30 businesses across Wales which have rallied round to provide support for the Welsh Commonwealth Games campaign in Team Wales’ quest for medal glory – a combined business sponsorship and support by companies totalling more than £130,000.
Dan Langford, Director of the Commonwealth Games Council for Wales, said: “Business all over Wales has rallied round magnificently to support Team Wales and has allowed us to give the team the best possible chance of success in Delhi.”
