BBC doc at Swansea Business Club
By Andy Pearson
ONE of the UK’s most radical leadership thinkers is guest speaker at Swansea Business Club on Friday, December 10.
Dr Paul Thomas believes we should ditch the traditional way of managing and, instead, give every member of staff a say in running the business.
Known to BBC Radio Wales listeners as The Business Doctor, his aim is to make organisations democratic, fun and enjoyable places to work.
Dr Thomas said: “It will be a pleasure to address Swansea Business Club and I look forward to some great questions.
“My message will be clear – the way most businesses are managed is outdated; ‘command and control’ doesn’t work these days so we need to move on.”
He will be supported by Keith O’Keefe, one of the UK’s top after-dinner funny men. Clients include golf clubs Wentworth, Sunningdale and The Belfry, soccer clubs Arsenal and Chelsea and rugby clubs Wasps and Saracens and the WRU.
Club president Spencer Feeney said: “Our Pre-Christmas Lunch will be very special.
Entertaining
“Paul and Keith are tremendously entertaining in contrasting ways; all who attend will leave with many talking points.”
Business club secretary Bruce Roberts said: “Some of Paul’s ideas are radical and thought-provoking. His talk will be fascinating to all involved in business.
“Keith has a passion for humour and sport; put the two together and you’ve got superb after-dinner fun.”
Paul Thomas and Keith O’Keefe will address Swansea Business Club at the Towers Hotel, Jersey Marine, from 12.30pm on Friday, December 10.
