Too many websites focus on the company, not the customer’ says internet expert, ahead of unique new seminar.

One of Wales’ leading branding, design and advertising agencies is holding the first of a series of special seminars this month, offering businesses unique insights from the marketing industry.
The inaugural ‘Gill Insights seminar’, run by Cardiff-based branding experts Peter Gill, is set to take place on Friday 26th November at the Village Hotel in Cardiff, and will feature an interactive session from internet marketing author, consultant and e-business speaker, Nigel T Packer.
With more than 10 years experience in the industry, Nigel’s business offers consultancy in e-business strategy, website user experience and website promotion, delivers workshops and bespoke training, and carries out online and website research.
In his trademark straightforward and enthusiastic style, Nigel presents in non-technical language using real-world observations and offers the delegates practical techniques and actionable strategies to help businesses improve their approach to their websites, and ultimately, increase revenue.
Speaking about the seminar, Nigel said: “I’m aiming to show people why the traditional approach to developing a website is no longer effective, and how many businesses are frustrating their customers without even realising it.“
“Too many businesses are still employing a web developer to build their website, and then abdicating responsibility while in the process of developing that website.”
“You may be relying on a website expert to build the site, but you are the expert on your business. All too often, we are asked to review and evaluate a website that is developed with little or no input from the business itself, which then has to be redeveloped with heavy time and cost implications, by which time customers have already been lost to competitors.”
“I hope delegates will leave this first seminar with a clear picture of the truth about how their customers use the internet, and how to ensure that their lasting first impression is a good one.”
Jason Gill, account director at Peter Gill said: “We set up Gill Insights with the aim of sharing some of the expertise we have in house here at Peter Gill. We have a big team, with a variety of design, branding and marketing skills, and we are hoping to share that knowledge with the wider business community at these quarterly events.
He added: “Nigel T Packer is a highly regarded speaker in the industry, and we are delighted to have him on board for the inaugural seminar.”
- The event takes place on Friday 26th November from 9am -12pm at the Village Hotel, Cardiff. Places are £35. To book a place at the Gill Insights Seminar, call Emily Moores today on 029 2037 7312 or email: emily@petergill.com
