Calendar cool is blast for DJs

But the presenters of Swansea Sound and sister station The Wave are busy putting those perceptions right.
Their 2011 calendar has just reached me – and it works brilliantly on a few levels.
1 It’s a lively fundraiser for the stations’ well considered annual Cash For Kids appeal.
2 It’s a nice pat on the back for clients as it features presenters photographed on advertisers’ premises.
3 It’s a great PR tool for the stations, having a light-hearted edge with a knowingly cheesy approach.
Swansea Sound breakfast host Kevin Johns – as a panto dame – reclines on a genteel couch at Homestores, Gorseinon.
Mark Powell and Smithy appear amongst the bright satins and plastics of Cross Hands baby shop Precious Moments.
Steve Shaw and Claire Scott are among those tooled up and overalled at Swansea’s Harris Bros Tyres.
But pride of place goes to Wave early risers Badger and Emma.
Morcambe and Wise-style, they’re pictured with fully stocked breakfast trays and unruffled sheets in a luxurious bed at Swansea’s Norton House Hotel.
Their hint of discomfort at such a modeling assignment – complete with carefully crafted space between them and striped shirts making do as pyjama tops – is a joy to behold.
Well done, Swansea Sound and The Wave – I hope this calendar helps deliver a great 2011.
