Hearts and soul at Swansea’s Village Hotel

Soul singer James Franklyn is the star attraction at Swansea’s Village Hotel this weekend (Sat, Feb 12).

The SA1 venue’s Valentine Spring Ball features Franklyn in a night of Motown memories.
He’s a Brit who did his performance hard yards in the blues and soul bars of Detroit.
The event includes a three-course meal and disco.

Simon Chainey, the Village’s food and beverage manager, said: “James has promised us some outstanding tunes carried off in his own superb style.
“There’ll be lots of love songs for the traditional romantics and a lot of upbeat material for those more inclined to get up and dance.”
Sport
Elsewhere at The Village on Saturday, sports fans can enjoy the Scotland v Wales rugby international. It’s on the big screen from 5pm and is followed with live music from Swansea covers specialists The Jones Brothers.
Future attractions at the Village include a Take That tribute and a comedy special.
