Media shines a light on stars

By Andy Pearson

A quickfire PR campaign organised by Effective Communication brought tremendous results this week.

The trustees of health charity Treat Trust Wales asked us to help ticket sales for their first major fundraising dinner – and the result was massive media coverage across Wales.

The exposure will help February 25’s big event, at Swansea’s Brangwyn Hall, be a huge success.

This week began with a press release flagging up the fact that businesses such as Swansea-based law firm Peter Lynn and Partners were supporting the gala dinner.

Prizes

A competition was then placed in the South Wales Evening Post offering dinner tickets as prizes.

It continued with a press conference at Blanco’s Hotel, Port Talbot, as the media were invited to meet celebrity Treat Trust supporters Michael Sheen and Paul Potts.

The results yesterday included coverage on hourly news bulletins on national commercial station Real and on local stations Swansea Sound and The Wave; almost the whole of page three in the Western Mail and filmed items on BBC Wales TV news programmes.

There’s more expected in the Evening Post today or tomorrow.

The activity gives inspirational Treat Trust founder Mel Davies a great chance to make the gala dinner – which features Potts singing and Sheen presenting – a big success.

Good luck to all involved!
