Real Radio Wales goes all photogenic

By Andy Pearson

It’s always good to see “rival” media organisations getting it together.

So it’s refreshing that the latest edition of Swansea Life magazine has a page of photos celebrating the launch of Real Radio’s all-Wales broadcasting service.

The station, which has served the country’s M4 corridor pretty well over the past few years, is now available throughout the land.

Party

The launch party featured in the mag produced lots of grins for the cameras.

The characters involved included advertisers, presenters, sales staff and others linked to Real.

As if by magic, there appears caravan sales star Eddie Whitney.

Biography

And a few pages later – on Eddie’s own advertising slot for Blazers and Sunnyhaven – there’s a biography of station MD Tony Dowling.

Originally from Fforestfach, Swansea, Tony  started his career in sales on the Llanelli Star and South Wales Evening Post.

He moved into radio and includes Swansea Sound among his former employers.

Exposure

There’s still more exposure for Real on the following page as Eddie is seen visiting the station for the latest adventure in his photo stories-style ad.

He’s pictured with individuals such as presenter Chris Moore.Quite a splurge really, for the broadcaster.

A job well done – and good luck across the rest of Wales!
