Monthly mag set to grow
By Andy Pearson
Encouraging signs over at free lifestyle magazine Swansea Eye.
The A4 glossy which has worked hard to become established on the patch over the past 15 months or so has expanded its team.
It may only be the addition of a sales rep but that represents a careful and solid growth plan in difficult times.
Recruit
It was good to see new recruit Emily Lewis at the city’s Village Hotel this week.
She was there with the magazine’s ever-presents Steve Sidebottom and Debbie Jenkins.
Emily’s previous role was with South Wales Evening Post glossy Swansea Life and she said she’s relishing the chance of helping the Eye to grow.
Promotion
Debbie was among the media people down at the Village a couple of weeks ago when Swansea City’s players began their open-top bus parade there in celebration of winning promotion to the Premier League.
And you can expect a Swans column to be one of the additions to the magazine, possibly from the July edition.
Other regular editorial features over recent months have included a news round-up, a what’s on listing, a Russell Gramt horoscope and fashion spreads.
Bank
Adverstisers have included the Village, Handelsbanken, Days Peugeot and Taylor Wimpey.
Competitions have become an important part of the offering as have a kids page and columns offering advice on issues ranging from personal fitness to debt.
With new blood on board in the shape of Emily, things are looking even more promising.
