Penzance Preview of Brit Insurance National Cricket Day

Scores of school children from around Penzance were given a lesson in cricket this week from England Women’s Ashes winner Caroline Atkins and Women’s World Cup champion Charlotte Edwards.

The coaching session, at St. Just Cricket Club, was a taster for next week’s Brit Insurance National Cricket Day (Thurs 23 June) which will see pupils across the country take part in cricket classes, break-time batting and bowling and extra-curricular cricket competitions.

The highlight of this year’s Cricket Day, which is part of the Chance to Shine campaign, will be an all girl’s tournament on Perranporth Beach, North Cornwall.
