Pier pressure points to future
By Andy Pearson
Penarth View is very much a commercial media operation – but it’s good to see it muscling in for a great local cause.
Among the advertorial features on the town’s motor repairers, accountants, tattoo parlours and ethnic restaurants is strong coverage of the Penarth Pavilion Project.
The scheme involves an eagerly hoped-for £1.6m from the Heritage Lottery Fund along with major support from bodies such as Vale of Glamorgan Council.
Useful
Once finished, the pavilion will become a useful and educational space for the community. Films, concerts, learning opportunities, displays and exhibitions are all planned.
So it’s great that View editor Nigel Dudley has decided to give the project his wholehearted support.
His latest edition – number three – even features a “project supporter of the month” spot. He’s Ceri Richmond, of Core Web Design who have offices in Cardiff and Penarth.
