Tommo talks his way to title
By Andy Pearson
As professionals with just one name go, Tommo isn’t quite in the Pele and Ronaldinho league just yet.
Llanelli’s Scarlet FM DJ would probably even concede that Toy Story’s Woody hustles him out of town when it comes to the fame game.

But such minor considerations aren’t hindering the rise and rise of our Tommo.
Gregarious
Indeed, the gregarious west Walian has just taken a national prize for his local broadcasting work.
In the well thought-of Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards, he was named presenter of the year for smaller stations.
And he was in decent company; other category winners included Baddiel & Skinner (feature of the year) and Ronnie Wood (newcomer).
Award
The awards were dished out at a star‐studded ceremony in London’s Westminster Bridge Park Plaza Hotel.
Guest presenters included Pete Waterman, John Suchet and Mark Goodier. There were live performances from Beverly Knight and Pixie Lott.
The Arqiva awards, in their 16th year, are organised by RadioCentre, the industry body for commercial radio to salute excellence and achievement.
Shifts
Tommo, whose duties include shifts at Scarlet FM sister station Radio Carmarthenshire, is also matchday pitchside rabble rouser at Parc y Scarlets when the Scarlets are at home.
How good it is to see national acclaim go to south west Wales.
