Video publishing
If a picture is worth a thousand words, how much is a moving picture worth?
Video promises to be the medium of the future as the internet’s search engines develop more efficient ways of finding for them but there are good reasons to start using them now:
- Established media houses already have a hunger for videos to feed their websites with;
- Publishing videos to mainstream sites, such as YouTube, reaches even bigger portions of target audiences;
- Videos stay prominently displayed for longer than written articles on many websites because comparitively few are published. Consequently, videos have a much slower turnover and by being visible for longer will be noticed by more website visitors.
- Many publishers favour packages that combine a written article and photographs with a video as “added value”. The article – often published in print and online – can contain a link driving people who read it to the video on their website.
With their long shelf life in mind, videos are often made so that their message will be valid for several months. The written article may be a general press release or a bespoke article but we usually work closely with the media to put such packages together.
We offer clients a full range of video films made by highly qualified and experienced video cameramen and women, sound engineers and editors:
- Bronze: Typically, these are based on news stories and last for 2-3 minutes. They usually feature one person speaking to camera in one location with general views of the subject. They may accompany a press release.
- Silver: These may be shot at multiple locations and can involve more than one person speaking on camera. They may last longer but are still intended for use by the media as well as by clients on their websites, at exhibitions and in other publicity material such as promotional DVDs.
- Gold: These are often corporate videos. Usually scripted, they may use voice-overs by actors and actresses and sometimes music. Multi-camera and sound teams and specialist equipment may be used and post-production work can be extensive.
